In honor of my poodle (baby sister's) birthday, I made this post. Sadly, I've been deathly ill so I have only two outfits :( I'm going to try and get another one up by the end of the day, bare with me!

Eternal Bliss

I'm still working on the Valentine's Day post which is super fun because I didn't even realize how many cute things you can wear on Vday!


In the mean time, I was having a conversation with a girlfriend about my blog and she said something that I can't stop thinking about. She said that eternal bliss to her would be wearing her favorite skinny jeans, fuzzy socks, and a wife-beater every day of her life. She said she feels comfortable and herself in it and even thought it's not the most flattering thing, she feels comfortable which in turn puts her at ease. 


 It made me start thinking what my "eternal bliss" outfit would be.


As much as I relish in my love for clothing, there is nothing... I repeat NOTHING I would rather do than take a well deserved afternoon lounging out. Whether I'm reading a book, watching a movie, or painting I couldn't think of anything that would be more fun!


Which brings me to my "eternal bliss" outfit...

I know I look like a bag of d in this pic but Trav took it randomly after Christmas and I wasn't expecting it, obvi. I love those pants. They are old, faded, big, and warm I'm pretty sure I wear them 5x a week, at least. I took them to California, Spain, England, and backpacking. We all know how much I love stripes (generally they just HAPPEN to be navy and white, not my fault). Cardigans and hats are just the comfy touch you need to relax, it just so happens when this picture was taken I finished baking 1,000 cookies with my grandma. Don't ask.

I love me some football but I'll be honest and say that I don't really follow the NFL as much as I could. For manana's superbowl party I haven't decided what color to wear or who to root for. I've decided it comes down to who's hotter...

V Magazine

What kind of BBB would I be if I didn't talk about the AMAZING V Magazine size issue from last month? I'm so bummed that I didn't get a copy, I would do anything to have one but until then I'll just stare at these!

The fact that they had two covers made a statement to the general juxtaposition of the industry's view on beauty. The two images are equally stunning but represent the opposite ends of the spectrum. We all fall somewhere in between!

Love her legs in here (and shoes)

I love her stomach and face! She's so fierce and confident and I would totally rock that outfit after seeing this picture. She makes me want to WORK IT OUT!

The fact that this picture is the promotional pic for the entire campaign makes me believe that V Magazine believes its message in the issue rather than just another publicity stunt. I also love that they didn't retouch all of her skin discoloration, as a colored girl it makes me happy to know that we're all a little multi tonal on the inside...hehe. 

I haven't seen 'Precious'  yet but I have seen plenty of Sidibes' interviews and love her humility; she needs to frame this picture for real. Like over her bathroom...or instead of her bathroom mirror. 

But my FAVORITE part of the issue is the side by side they did of the regular/plus model! Crystal looks smokin' (as always) and she makes me want to buy the FABULOUS clothes even more!

Is it just me or am I going to surrender my life to the stylist who picked the shoes in this issue?

I read in an interview with the editor that the issue wasn't made for the BBB girls out there but instead to shock and redefine the layman's definition of beauty. 

The world would be a boring place if everyone was a size 2. I love being a size 22, just like I love a giant cup of hot chocolate with extra whipped cream. F.A.T (Fabulous and Thick) folks know that it's the extras in life - like pounds, cash and love - that give us the character. Embrace the extras, Baby!"

Lights, Camera, Fashion

Since that great and faithful day that I first watched the vessel of a whirlwind that is GossipGirl, I have admired the fashion of one Jessica Szhor. I can never spell her last name, but I can also never frown upon the beautiful creations that are her wardrobe. In character or out her clothes make me envy her more than I could ever imagine. 

I love the way she wears fitted pieces, short skirts, or heels and always looks so casual and comfortable. Of course, her legs are heavenly so w/e. Personal Fashion Rule: Success = making Gucci look like play clothes. 

I love how all of her clothing is timeless, some of these pictures are months old but I would rock it tomorrow. Not to mention that she's my hero for being   in a relationship with the man of my dreams...Chuck Bass. (Ed Westwick falls at number two on my list.)

I'm going to go now....oh Chuck.
